Meditation for Gratitude

LISTEN NOW: ITUNES // SPOTIFY // STITCHER

Thank you Newsstand Studio at 1 Rockefeller Plaza for producing this podcast!!

How do you seek God when you don’t know if you believe the way you used to?

How do you move forward in your faith when it feels like it’s in shambles?

How do you experience God outside of Sunday church?

For mental health May–I did something new!  I created three meditation podcast episodes under 10 minutes! If you missed the first two, check them out:

  1. Meditation for burnout (listen here).

  2. Meditation for anxiety by Jackie Viramontez (listen here).

  3. Now, I’ll be leading you through meditation for gratitude.

Find a comfortable seated position. Close your eyes. One hand on your heart. One hand on your belly. Inhale deep into your belly. Exhale through your nose. When you get to the end of the exhale, loop right back into an inhale deep into your belly.

Do a quick scan of your body. Where are you holding tension? Notice. Release.

Bring to mind one thing today, this week, or this month that you are grateful for. It could be as simple as “I love the sheets on my bed. Thank you, God, for them.”

Pause. Soak up that moment. Thank God for that moment. Breathe into it.

Now think about someone you love, what you love about them, thank God for them, and send a short blessing their way.

How can you also express gratitude for someone you aren’t very close to? Or someone you actively dislike?

That’s all for now— make sure you’re subscribed to the podcast on iTunes or Spotify so you get notified when next week’s episode is live. I will be back with an Ask Kat episode. Be sure to send in your questions to speakpipe.com/trc for me to answer on air!
