A striped tee and a pair of light wash distressed denim are at the very top of my "essential basics" list. I'm happy to report I'm already set on both fronts for this pregnancy thanks to Hatch.

This striped top was a gift from Aaron from my first pregnancy (he's the best) and it's still something I love to throw on. It has black stripes which for me is an important detail - I just don't wear navy! I'm all black all the time. I also have a weird thing about wanting my shoes to match. The symmetry of this pairing particularly pleases me.

The jeans were another gift from the Mr. for my birthday because he knew that this time around I needed to invest in some better jeans. I didn't have much luck with maternity jeans last time. I had a pair of Citizens of Humanity maternity jeans but since I have such a long torso, the "over the bump" panel  fit so awkwardly that I never wore them. My other pair are black skinny jeans from J Brand that are meant to sit under the bump, and they got me through the bulk of my last pregnancy. Sadly, they stretched out almost to the point of no return. The denim seems to be too thin. I love the  Current Elliot x Hatch collaboration - I just wish these fit like true boyfriend jeans. They look a bit more like skinny jeans on me - but I have tried on CE jeans before and they never look as baggy on me as they do on the model. But I love the wash, the distressing and the fit enough to call the search off. I've been reaching for these jeans most days so far.

What maternity jeans have you tried that you loved?

XO,

Em
