Thank you Newsstand Studio at 1 Rockefeller Plaza for producing this podcast!!

Welcome back to another Ask Kat episode! If you’re new here, I answer questions on IG stories every Monday but it’s so hard to answer them in 15 seconds! So I created a podcast series where I can give more in depth answers to your nuanced questions. You can listen to the first Ask Kat episode here. This time around, I’m talking all things Bridgerton, being an LGBTQ+ ally, interfaith relationships, and my own physical boundaries in dating.

Jade: What did you think of the Bridgerton series + now the ongoing show? What is your favorite one?

  • I loved season one, and I was surprised by how much I loved season two and its sexual tension. My favorite books are book 2 (Anthony) and book 3 (Collin).

Lawson: Tips on how to be outwardly LGBTQ+ affirming within my Christian community?

Maddi: I’m not interested in dating unless it’s this one person. Is this a problem?

  • Are you willing to ask them out? Are they available to you?

  • What does it look like to accept the reality of what is?

Grace: How to know your values while dating during deconstruction?

  • I’ve been working through this exact question with my therapist. He reminded me of this important thing: there’s a difference between beliefs and values.

Katie: What is your personal opinion + or biblical stance on interfaith relationships?

  • Again: be open to seeing the difference between beliefs and values

  • Think about Ruth + Boaz

KB: Does masturbation cause loss of eggs?

Anna: What do you think about sperm donation + faith?

  • Thank God for science and technological advances!

Jillian: Do you regret expressing your boundaries while dating in your book if they’ve changed since?

  • Yes + no. In my book, I shared that I am waiting for marriage to have sex. As I wrote it, I worried I was writing down something for publication that I was no longer going to believe or stand by. But we’re all constantly evolving as humans. And what I wrote was true for me at that moment.

  • I’ve decided to no longer share my boundaries because I think sharing encourages people copying and pasting without doing their own work.

The podcast will be on a break for the next 4 weeks with no new episodes (and we won’t be re-releasing old episodes during that time either). I need a for real break so II’m taking it! I hope you will enjoy diving into the archives or spending time outside enjoying the beautiful June weather with friends and family.
