Call it a blanket. Call it a poncho. Either way I LOVE IT.
But if you want to know the truth, I couldn’t get motivated to put on any eye makeup. I’m pretty sure that’s why they invented sunglasses, and red lipstick.
#makeitwork ladies. You can’t win ‘em all.
Poncho : Free People

I have to admit, when I first saw this dress I was not a fan; it felt way too business’y for my liking. Do I want to be professional? Absolutely, but this dress on the hanger just wasn’t doing it for me.
Even when I tried it on I felt like I was wearing a giant sac. (Ladies I am 5’10, and no where near a size 2).
Enter my amazing Refined Friend Em. This lady has vision, and a nack for accessorizing. She threw a belt at me, and VIOLA! I instantly felt amazing in this dress. Honestly it was like night and day. In fact, this might be one of my favorite outfits. Since I have more of a ‘boy’ frame the belt gave me shape I needed.
Also, I have to address my shoes since I have worn them in 90% of our posts. My mom asked me the other day “how in the world can you wear those shooting”? Ladies…these shoes are SOOO comfortable. I’ve worn them so much, shot in them for hours on end, and ran…no really literally ran through New York City in the snow with them on. The thick heel makes them uber comfortable, and also makes me like 6’3 so I can see for miles. It’s basically a win-win-win-win for me!
Lastly the bow, I mean really I love them and will take any opportunity to done them, and it gives a certain polished look to the outfit. As the Kate Spade Spring Campaign says #putabowonit.

One thing I loved seeing at New York Fashion Week was some incredible vibrant Reds on the runway. So this week to kick off a little runway to reality, Kat + I have two NYC outfits with a pop of red.
While I would have loved to have a different jacket to share with you, the other reality for this California girl is that I just don’t have that many fun coats. It just doesn’t get cold enough to invest in them, so most of mine are the standard black or navy. After last week though and some of the coats I saw at the spring J Crew presentation I am rethinking things completely.
